Baby Lewis

This is baby Lewis. I'm not going to lie, he is in my top 3 BEST BABY MODELS, EVER. I've really lucked out with the last few (and the last two him & Baby Theo are cousins!). Must run in the family. OR I just had a rough start with this whole newborn photography stuff. Whatever it may be, this little dude made my job feel like a dream. He was excellent. I hope you enjoy the photos!
doesn't he have a beautiful mouth?

Q's.

On the hottest day of the year (thus far), I met up with my friend Joe & his absolutely adorable children. Joe & I (and my husband, too!) all went to high school together. Now Joe has 2 beautiful kids and they are smart, sweet, polite, and hilarious. I had myself a great time! I hope you enjoy the photos. *click on photo to enlarge!
This was supposed to be a joke...but it's actually kind of
AWESOME!!!

This was Arihn's idea.

I have a little brother myself, and I love this photo.
The older-sis/little-bro bond is a sweet one, don't you agree?

Wedding Tips from your Photographer

Thinking about getting married?

Well here are a few tips that I have to share from you, from all my previous experiences of photographing weddings.

1)Brides: Even if this might not be something you would normally ever do, and even if you are going for minimal makeup: WEAR FALSE LASHES. They make a huge difference! Below is a kooky example of me with no makeup and false lashes.

2)That being said: WEAR MAKEUP. Even if you are normally the type to not wear makeup, it takes a lot to look "natural." The camera loves to pick up on dark circles, shiny skin, and blemishes. A nice even skin tone will work wonders!

3) This one is going to be easier said than done, but DON'T STRESS! It shows in photos. How many times have I been annoyed trying to edit photos where the bride is glowering or just looking frazzled? It shows up! On my wedding day, I was surprisingly NOT a Bridezilla...and this is why: I thought "Well, I did everything I can to prepare for this day, and now it's just going to happen, so I better enjoy it." To this day, my wedding was the most fun and memorable wedding I have ever gone to, and I hear this from our guests, too!

it rained, a LOT on my wedding day.

4) When the photographer is standing around while you are busy preparing for the wedding, unless they ask you to look at them, do NOT look at the photographer. (Please tell this to the people in your wedding party, too). I know it can't be helped sometimes, you just want to know where the photographer is, you are obviously aware that you are being photographed, but usually it ruins the shot. Not to mention that it's a photo of everyone busy focused on doing one thing, and then there's that creepy stare from that one person! I know you've seen this. I'm not going to put up one of my many examples, though! ;)

5)If there are certain shots that you REALLY want or are hoping for, then please...send examples ahead of time to your photographer. they will be honest and tell you if it's possible and do their best to re-create that shot. they are not mind readers!

6)Don't be afraid to laugh when the camera's are around. Or cry. Or just be yourself.

7)Breathe, chin up, chest out! all your weight on your back leg. ;) (I will be there to remind you of this one).

8)Practice walking in your shoes AND your dress! That way you will be better prepared to deal with a train or how dress restrictions. Also, please let your bridesmaids know to practice wearing their shoes!
